Homemade Green Tea Latte

Hey everyone! I know it has been what seems like forever since I last posted, but I am very excited to be sharing this recipe with you all!

Our family computer broke which has been pretty crazy but we are figuring our way around it!

Anyways let’s get back to this recipe! I don’t know about you all but Starbucks is definitely a guilty pleasure for me! I love going on mommy dates with my friends and just chatting over a cup of coffee. One of my favorite drinks to chat over is Starbucks Iced Green Tea Latte.

Starbucks may be a guilty pleasure but it is also pretty pricey, so why wouldn’t you want to try and make one of you favorite drinks at home? One of the best parts is that you can make it iced or hot, whenever you want it!  So it is awesome for all seasons throughout the year!

So here is my take on recreating a Green Tea Latte!

To start, I gathered everything I needed, which consists of:

  • Cute Mug
  • Starbucks Vanilla Syrup
  • Matcha Powder
  • Coconut Milk
  • Black Tea
  • Ice (If desired)

So I began by brewing 8 oz. of hot water to make my black tea. This is also the part where I like to add in my matcha. Matcha has a very earthy flavor, and it is much easier to dissolve the matcha in hot water, rather than adding it in later. If you add it in later, you will have more matcha chunks in your drink, and even though matcha is awesome when it is mixed in with other things, it can be quite a different experience when it is tasted all by itself!

After the tea and matcha are stirred in together, add about a cup and a half of coconut milk, to your preference of course. I like to add just a little bit more, because I have always like my coffee and tea a lighter color. I prefer a creamier taste.

Once you have added the coconut milk to your preference, add two tablespoons of the vanilla syrup. Again, if you prefer it a little sweeter, you can always add a little more, and if you like it not as sweet you can always add about one and a half tablespoons instead.

Mix well and ta-da! You have just made yourself an awesome, homemade Green Tea Latte!! Go ahead and add some ice if that late summer heat is still beating down like it has been here in New Mexico!

I hope you all enjoyed this recipe and I will talk to you all in my next post!!

PS. If you have not yet read this book, you should because it is amazing! I have not read it since I was around eighteen, and I forgot how beautifully written it is! So if you are looking for a new read, I highly recommend My Sisters Keeper!
